The Story Behind the Work
Gilberto’s path to becoming a business strategist was not conventional.
He grew up as an undocumented immigrant from Panama, navigated a difficult adolescence that included gang involvement as a teenager, and built his career through relentless self-education, direct sales, and entrepreneurship. What he learned along the way, about positioning, persuasion, resilience, and systems, became the foundation of everything he teaches today.
His story is not background. It is the reason he believes deeply that the right opportunity, the right guidance, and the right business infrastructure can change the entire trajectory of someone’s life.

Gilberto Herrera serves as President of Everybody WENS, a Birmingham-based organization focused on violence prevention, entrepreneurship, and community development. He also serves on the board of the AG Gaston Boys and Girls Club, where he is committed to mentorship, youth development, and creating economic opportunity for the next generation.
